From Baidu to Eachnet to Sohu, these are all successful examples of the Copy-To-China phenomenon, in which a promising business model is adapted and launched in China by Chinese entrepreneurs. For aspiring entrepreneurs, is Copy-To-China still a viable strategy for your next venture? On the other hand, many US companies, who originated the business model, have had tough time in penetrating the Chinese market. What's wrong? We are excited to bring together a group of well-known speakers to help us solve the puzzle.

Speakers Bio:
Jun Li, Dean of Research Institute of Information Technology, Vice Dean of School of Information Science and Technology, Tsinghua University
Dr. Jun Li is currently Dean of Research Institute of Information Technology, and Vice Dean of School of Information Science and Technology, Tsinghua University. He is also Deputy Director of the Tsinghua National Lab for Information Science and Technology. Before rejoined Tsinghua in 2003, Dr. LI was GM of Vancouver and Beijing R&D centers of ServGate Technologies that he co-founded in 1999. He was the founding President, COO and Acting CEO of the company. Prior to that, Dr. Jun LI worked in the Advanced Technology Division of TeraLogic, Inc. and Video and Imaging Division of EXAR as senior software engineer. In between of his MS and PhD studies, He was an assistant professor then lecturer in the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University. Dr. LI holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), and MS and BS degrees in Control and Information, respectively, from Tsinghua University. Dr. LI is also a board member or advisor to several venture capital and startup companies.
Lewis Lu, Founder/CEO of 51QB (One of RedHerring 100 company).
Dr. Lewis Lu's experiences include China entry strategy development for Motorola, business school faculty at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Internet entrepreneur, COO of a venture capital fund channeling foreign investment to China. He grew up in Beijing and still lives in Beijing part of the year. His another hometown is in Silicon Valley of California. He holds PhD in Finance from UC Berkeley's Business School, MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Business School, and ME from Tsinghua University. 51QB is a start up specializes in frequent/micro online payment system. 51QB was recently chosen to be one of the "RedHerring Asian 100 Companies" and one of "ZhongGuanChun 50 Companies". Dr Lu will share his experience of starting up 51QB in Tsinghua Sciences Park.
