Chester Wang is the general partner and co-founder of Acorn Campus Ventures, and a founding member of Acorn Angels. Dr. Wang graduated from TsinghuaUniversity in Taiwan and later got his Ph.D. in physics from University of Oregon. He had been a college professor taught computer science, co-founded Pacific Rim Electronics, a wholesaler and distributor of semiconductor chips, also a co-founder of CMC, a software company for computer numerical machines. He and his brother, Stanley T. Wang another Tsinghua graduate, have been instrumental in developing numerous residential, commercial and industrial properties in Silicon Valley. He had co-chaired the New Realty Task Force with then Mayor Susan Hammer of San Jose, a city with over $1 billion annual budget and 6,000 employees, to re-engineering City’s budgeting and operation. He currently serves on the board of Altigen Communications, Crown Bioscience, Btrend, ChinaBio, and Chinese Bible Society.

Samuel T. Wang is the President of SMIC Americas, the US operation of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, the first pure play wafer foundry company in China. Sam leads a team of semiconductor experts to develop marketing and sales work from its office located at Fremont, California. Prior to joining SMIC, from 1995 to 2001, Sam was the Vice President of Operation of 8x8 Inc, a fabless design company specializing in SOC multimedia chips and videoconference systems. From 1984 to 1995, Sam was the cofounder and Executive Vice President of ICT Inc., a semiconductor technology company specializing in developing and marketing EEPROM, EPROM, Flash nonvolatile memories and Programmable Logic Devices (PLD). Before 1984, Sam was employed as engineering manager by Hughes Aircraft, Intel and National Semiconductor on various EPROM and DRAM projects.

Since 2003, Dr. Wayne Huang has been the managing director and CTO of the TMT sector for ChinaEquity, a VC and investment banking firm founded by former Morgan Stanley investment banker and Swiss bankers. Leveraging his Motorola executive and startup experience, he contributed to portfolio companies in post investment services. He has also served as an advisor to CTO offices in numerous US companies. While doing this, he built up a strong reputation as a sought after management consultant in technology acquisitions advisory and post M&A integration services. In early 2000, he ran his start up eAnywhere for four years, first competing with Siemens’s module product in China and then achieving No.1 market share through partnership with Yulong (HKEX: 2369) as China Unicom qualified vendor, then partnering with Telular (NASDAQ:WRLS ) and together entering US commercial public safety market as qualified Lucent vendor before successful acquisition in 2003.

Mr. He joined OmniVsion as Senior Engineer in 1995, right after the company’s inception. Mr. He soon moved into management, serving as Design Manager and Director. In 2001, Mr. He was promoted to Vice President of Core Technologies, and in August 2006, become OmniVision’s Chief Operating Officer. Mr. He manages the operation, MIS, sales, marketing, and directs OmniVision’s sensor array R&D for both analog and digital CameraChip products. Mr. He’s engineering and management skills ensure the continuing technological advancement of OmniVision products. In November of 2006, Mr. He was appointed to the OmniVision Board of Directors. Mr. He holds a bachelor and master degree in Electrical Engineering from TsinghuaUniversity in Beijing and holds over 20 US patents.

Dr. Xuecheng Jin is the Vice President of IC Engineering at iWatt Inc, a fables semiconductor startup company in Silicon Valley of California, and is responsible for the company’s analog and mixed signal IC and power conversion technology, with its products volume shipped into leading cellular phone manufacturers. Before that, he is the co-founder and chief technology officer at Simple Silicon Inc (acquired by iWatt Inc in 2006), where his leadership and technical contribution is instrumental to establish the company’s world-class portfolio of advanced high definition video analog front-end technology which has been widely adopted by the HDTV industry. His previous experiences include a project manager at BitBlitz Communications Inc (acquired by Intersil in 2004), a venture funded startup company in the Silicon Valley that designs and manufactures high-speed physical layer devices using conventional CMOS technology; a senior analog design engineer at Integrated Telecom Express Inc (NASDAQ IPO in 2000), an ADSL broadband solution startup in the Silicon Valley; and an associate research fellow at Texas Instruments, the leadership analog and mixed signal semiconductor company.

Dr. Roawen Chen joined Marvell Semiconductor, Inc, in 2000. Prior to returning to this position, Dr. Chen also served as Vice President and General Manger of the Communications and Computing Business Unit (CCBU). He joined Marvell as the Manager of Manufacturing Technology in May 2000, and was promoted to Director and Sr. Director of Foundry Operations, in 2001 and 2003, respectively. In those roles he was responsible for foundry business operations and engineering operations. Prior to Marvell, Dr. Chen held technical positions in TSMC-USA and Intel Corp. Dr. Chen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from National Tsing-Hua University and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from University of California at Berkeley.
